Darmalingum Poinoosawmy (Samy), has been involved in years of research into the causes, treatment and detection of glaucoma. His particular interests include Perimetry, Ocular Blood Flow, Normal Tension Glaucoma and Optic Disc Imaging.

For many years he was Chief Research Officer at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
