Diagnostic Tests

All diagnostic tests are performed by dedicated ophthalmic technicians.

The results are normally available for collection shortly after the test has been carried out.

Alternatively, we can send the results by email or post to the referring specialist. All imaging results are printed on photographic quality gloss paper.

Humphrey Visual Fields Testing

Used to assess the central and peripheral vision of the eye

Heidelberg Retina Tomography (SLO/HRT)

Analysis of the optic nerve head.

Intra-Ocular Pressure Measurement (Applanation Tonometry)

Used to record the internal pressure of the eyes.

Goldman Kinetic Visual Field Testing

A specialist neurological visual testing method

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Digital mapping of the retinal sections in the back of the eye.

Fluorescein Angiography

Examination of the circulation of the retina using a yellow tracing dye.

ICG Angiography

Examination of the choroid layer of blood vessels which lie under the retina, using a green tracing dye.

Auto Fluorescence Photography

Imaging of the retinal pigmentation.

Colour Fundus Photography

To capture images of the retina.

Red-Free Imaging

Contrast imaging to view the surface of the retina.

Lens Measurement(IOL Master / Biometry)

Required before cataract surgery using ultrasound if required.

Keratometry

Non-contact method of measuring the curvature of the cornea.

Pachymetry

Used to assess the thickness of the cornea.
